Back in 2024, West Tampaโs 114-year-old staple Alessi Bakery announced plans to relocate and expand to a much larger space just a block down the street, and now theyโre finally ready to open the doors.
Located at 3003 W Cypress St. in the historic Tampa Letter Carriersโ Social Hall, the new facility will officially open Wednesday, April 15.
The 18,000-square-foot space will feature all the classic handmade desserts, baked goods and Cuban sandwiches guests have come to love for the past century, along with a few upgrades.

The new Alessi will sport a new quick service area serving breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Guests can also expect an expanded bakery space, and a dedicated cafe area featuring coffee, shakes, smoothies, soft-serve ice cream and more, according to a press release. Alessi will also now carry woodstone oven pizzas, a rotisserie chicken concept, as well as a full-service bar.
Hours at the new Alessi bakery are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
A rep for the bakery told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that they do not know future plans for the old building, which will not remain open for service.
This is just the second time the family-owned institution has moved since founder Nicolo Alessi opened its first location on Cherry Street in 1912.
