While most of Tampa parties it up pirate style at the Gasparilla parade, another huge shindig will be happening across downtown at the 2020 Tampa Bay Chinese New Year Celebration. Saturday marks the first day of the Chinese New Year, and the Chinese-American Association of Tampa Bay is throwing a huge party—featuring traditional Chinese dance and costumes, food and entertainment—inside of the gymnasium at Blake High School.

And if you can’t make it on Sunday, Oceanic market, just down the road from Blake High at 1609 N. Tampa St., is having a Chinese New Year Celebration of its own at 2 p.m. EDT.

Sat., Jan. 25. 2 p.m. $5-$10. Howard W. Blake High School, 1701 N. Blvd., Tampa. caatfl.tripod.com
