As you’re well aware, the Tampa Bay Lightning were swept in historic fashion this week, and while most of us just cried in the shower like respectable fans, one local resident reportedly lost his mind.

In a recent post to Reddit’s r/Relationships, a distraught Tampa Bay resident sought advice from strangers after her boyfriend started freaking out when the Bolts went down 3-0.

This is where we should say we have no idea if this story is true, because it was anonymously posted to Reddit, but it’s just too good not to share because, well, it features everything from conspiracy theories about the NHL allowing Columbus to win for better television ratings, threats to break-up with a loved one because they're not a good enough support system for sports-related meltdowns, and hockey equipment getting smashed into electronics.

Well, the Bolts did indeed lose. But the good news is in an updated post the girlfriend explained that her dingus boyfriend did not break-up with her and instead apologized. However, unfortunately he couldn’t hang out that evening because he put a hockey stick through his television screen and needed to clean it up. He also burned some Bolts gear and uploaded a video of it to Facebook, only to delete it later because he didn’t want to look weird.
