Hey, artists — you can win prizes for your fan art. The first-ever (and hopefully first annual) Tampa Bay AfroCon is hosting a fan art contest, and they're looking for art inspired by The Black Panther, Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Misty Knight, Black Lightning, Xmen's Storm, Blade, White Tiger, Vixen and Static Shock.

The contest has two categories: Best Youth Artist (for anyone 13 and younger) and Best Adult Artist (Anyone 14 and older). First place wins a $25 gift certificate to Michael's; second place gets an artist kit and sketchbook; and third place gets an artist kit. But you're not doing it for the prizes, right? No, you're doing it because the submitted art will be on display from March 18-April 27 at the Robert Saunders Library (they'll announce the winners at AfroCon on March 30.)

AfroCon celebrates superhero diversity. It's a day-long, family event that includes an escape room, a cosplay contest, crafts, gaming and other superhero-type events.

Submit your art here by March 4. Questions? Email 'em.
