Back in September, SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, which owns Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, announced 2,800 positions would be shed because of impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, now it appears the company is once again hiring.

This morning, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and its adjacent water park Adventure Island announced that more than 500 part time positions were currently available, including tram drivers, bartenders, landscapers, etc.

“Beyond a thrilling, fun and collaborative working environment, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island offer free admission for team members and discounts at park(s), free guest tickets, flexible scheduling, and much more.” said the company in a statement. “A great opportunity for current students and recent grads, applicants can get their foot in the door at one of the nation’s leading tourist attractions.”

The company did not specify the pay, or if previous employees who were laid off will be given preferred treatment in the hiring process.

Last spring, attendance at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment theme parks dropped by nearly 96%, resulting in the company furloughing 90% of its workforce, which at the time made up 4,300 full-time and 11,000 part-time employees spread across dozens of theme parks. While some were hired back in the coming months, nearly 3,000 employees were permanently laid off across the company.
