Hump Day has come and gone — and with slim pickins at the comic shop this week, I was left to satisfy myself on the Internet the next morning.
Y'know, by watching the Iron Man 2 trailer again. (The Black Widow and War Machine look great, but Gwyneth steals the show with her horrified reaction to Sandra Bullock winning an Oscar.)
Personally I think she deserved it. She's worked hard. And not everyone can wear pink, Gwyn. You've really changed since Goop. Not everyone can be the "star" that you are, okay? And actually, if you'll excuse me, I'm just going to talk about this week's comics now.
BATMAN AND ROBIN # 10: You can't judge a book by its cover.
Series-launching artist Frank Quitely continues to produce covers for the Morrison-penned title that make me salivate. Or at least spend $2.99 on a book I only kind of enjoy. This issue boasts that "The Return of Bruce Wayne begins here!" — but all I really want is the return of Quitely's artwork to the book's interior.

For a book that's setting up the next big X-Men event, you'd think art would matter. The second of three artists, Alejandro Garza, is unforgettable — but Swierczynski's script, great or not, is lost to the mediocre talent that opens and closes the issue. Which, if those are the people drawing it, maybe it's best that the next issue is the book's last. No wonder Marvel's looking for new talent to Break In.
