Some of us have grown up with Best of the Bay; others are new to our particular set of landmarks, personalities and institutions.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of CL's Best of the Bay awards, and nominations for the best performing, film, visual, comedy and other arts are crucial because we all know how much the arts needs all the help it can get.
One thing: BOTB will operate a little different this year this year.
Under Arts & Entertainment (and the other three sections), Loafers will have until Tuesday, July 21, to nominate their favorites in categories that include Best Theater Company and Best Art Party and top-performers in the ever-increasing literary scene; e.g., Best Local Fiction Writer, Best Book by a Local Author, Best Local Poet and Best Local Literary Event.
There's been more activity in dance and improvisation arts, too, and we should help these factions grow. Don't forget to seek out the Best Local Dance Company or Best Local Improv Troupe.
On Thursday, Aug. 6, voters will be able to cast their vote for each category by choosing from all the nominees. Click here for more info.
