Happy 4713! Chinese New Year begins on Feb. 19 and ends on March 5. Venues across the Tampa Bay area are celebrating.

The Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans will host its Chinese New Year Festival in Largo Cultural Park on Sat., Feb. 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The fest features an outdoor market, performances, food and an outdoor children culture area. Admission is free.

The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa will celebrate the Year of the Goat with brightly colored Chinese lion and dragon dancers and percussionists parading through the casino. The free shows are scheduled for Thursday evenings between 6 and 9 p.m..

A luminous, colorful display of custom-made lanterns will light up Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo for Zoominations, A Chinese Lantern Festival of Lights.
