
During the RNC, he led journalists on a tour of Tampa’s depressed neighborhoods, speaking of injustices and discrimination with a long list of facts to back up his charismatic eloquence. In addition to hosting Tampa’s longest-running open mic night, Malcolm is a yearly participant in The Great American Teach-In, sponsors Candy Lowe’s Black Business Bus Tour, assists with the Gina Oliva Fundraiser, is an organizer of the “Write For Our Future” program and financial supporter of WMNF’s “Poetry Is” and “Sunday Forum,” and volunteers regularly by giving performances at Metropolitan Ministries. When he’s not helping the poor and trying to bring the community together, he’s wrangling talent for weekly events.
