You knew this event was a good idea as soon as you entered Stump’s Supper Club. The Mustache Bash had an unbelievable turnout, everyone took their ’80s attire seriously, and upper-lip coifs of all shapes and sizes were everywhere, regardless of gender. The best part is, the silliness was for a good cause — the event raised more than $3,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Stump’s, alas, has closed, as has its Channelside cohort Howl at the Moon, but stay tuned for news of JDRF’s fun-raising bash for 2013. jdrf.org/tampabay.
