Maddon had Grant Balfour intentionally walk Miguel Cabrera (again) in a close game in the 7th inning (again), to load the bases (again) and face Brennan Boesch (again). Boesch got out (again) and the Rays beat the Tigers (again). That's five wins in a row and like the kid who's father just tossed him into the pool for the fifth straight time, I've got one word for our Rays. Say it with me, AGAIN. Um, you didn't say it. What, are you embarrassed? You afraid your little co-workers will think you're weird? You know what? Forget it. Just sit there and worry and wonder why no one asks you to Happy Hour. You disgust me.
Meanwhile, the Rays have patted St. Pete Mayor Foster on the head and thanked him for pretending he has any power over the team's decision of where to build a new stadium, contract or not. Bill Foster basically made a final offer of two possible locations (Gateway or Derby Lane) that would be okay with him. The Rays said, "Yeah, no. We're considering all options, but thanks for meddling." So, now the Mayor has drawn a line in the sand.
"At this point, I'm not interested in talking about it until 2027, or earlier if the Rays agree to this amendment," said Foster.
Isn't he adorable? Somebody watched The Godfather a few too many times.
So the question still remains: Will society have flying cars by 2027? Seriously eggheads, step it up.
Man, I wish I had a race card. Fired USF academic advisor is suing the athletic department for racial discrimination.
