When he's hot, he's Tampa-in-July-with-no-AC hot. Rookie Wade Davis, elected by some members of the Rays front office as having the highest potential upside of the whole pitching staff, certainly made his case and the Orioles his bitch Monday night shutting slump-busting Baltimore down, along with timely help on defense, and topped off with the bats playing opportunistic smart small-ball. Like Susan Sarandon said in Bull Durham, "Hit it where they ain't". Man, that ugly wrinkled old slut sure knew a thing or two.
St. Pete Mayor Bill Foster decided to relent on his stubborn stance against moving the stadium from a place that sucks ass with no people to a place where there are more people and, consequently, sucks considerably less ass. While he's still not hot on the whole Hillsborough idea just yet, he's willing to push the boundaries to more demographically advantangeous areas such as the Gateway off Howard Frankland as well as Derby Lane off Gandy Boulevard. Well, look who caught up to the rest of us. Welcome to the land of the painfully obvious, Mr. Mayor. We have cell phones and everything.
