After a huge come-from-behind victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night, the Tampa Bay Lightning were hoping to keep their winning ways going and improve their woeful record in the city of Boston on Thursday night. They came up just a bit short on both counts, falling to the Bruins by a final score of 1-8.
Boston got off to a quick start when David Krejci opened up the scoring at the 10:52 mark of the first period; for Krejci it was his third goal of the year. The Bruins extended that lead with just under a minute left in the first when Dennis Seidenberg faked a dump in. Lightning netminder Mike Smith committed enough on the play to go behind the net that Seidenberg was easily able to put the puck in the empty net and extend the lead to 2-0.
