The Amalie Arena wants your art.

I mean, if you're an artist. The Amalie issued a call for established and emerging artists to submit original work by Sept. 7, 2017.

"The exhibit’s goal is to display images that embrace and celebrate the greater Tampa Bay community, and that can help the Arena reflect the vibrancy of the area," Kristina Hjertkvist wrote in an Apr. 25 press release, noting that "images that creatively weave in Lightning hockey are certainly a welcomed addition."

This is the sixth year the Amalie will hang local art throughout the arena. And, while some may turn up their nose at an exhibit that's a corollary to why people are in the building (rather than the main attraction), artists selected by a jury of reps from Tampa Musuem of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, The Dalí and the Ringling Museum will have exposure to over 1.5 million people. In addition, if an artist sells their work, they get all the proceeds (far more than the 60/40 or 70/30 gallery split).

But wait, there's more: The top three artists (as ranked by the judges) get $1,000; the top 10 get $250; and the top three pieces submitted by artists under 18 get $250.

Submit by Sept. 7; the Amalie will notify winners by Sept. 23.
