Organizers at Get Rescued and the Gulfport Merchants Chamber of Commerce are teaming up once again for a celebration of Tampa Bay pet adoption. The 16th annual “Gulfport's Gets Rescued” event takes place on Feb., 22—featuring many animals waiting for forever homes.

Along with pet adoption stands (although same-day adoption is discouraged), there will be pet-related items for sale and other local businesses slinging their products and services out of vendor tents.

Don't you dare miss the 4th annual Florida Wiener Dog Derby, where both purebred and mixed dachshunds race against each other in an adorable and entertaining competition.

All money raised from “Gulfport's Gets Rescued", will benefit the adoptable rescues at the event, so you can spend guilt-free cash at the vendor tents.

This fundraiser runs from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. throughout downtown Gulfport’s Beach Blvd. S,  and if you can’t provide a forever home to a furry companion, you can support this event and help them in other ways.  Both admission and parking is free.
