Writers west of Tampa Bay, unite! Keep St. Pete Lit has revived the City of Writers.

Once the brainchild of USF-St. Petersburg professor Thomas Hallock, Keep St. Pete Lit has assumed responsibility for maintaining a free database of Pinellas county's verbally creative community.

The listing, president Maureen McDole says, will offer local writers a place to include basic information and act as a resource for people looking to find them. It's also, she adds, "just another way for people to realize how artistically alive our area is."

KSPL doesn't charge for the listing; McDole says the point is to sharpen focus on the area's writers.

"We enjoy helping writers share their talents with our community, and creating a larger literary dialogue within Pinellas County is our goal," she says. "We have a plethora of writers in this region and we love promoting our local talent."
