Congratulations to CL's columnist Jon Kile, who received first place in "Arts and Culture Blog" from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia.
Kile, a novelist, started penning "Self-Publishing Notebook" in January 2016. Here are the three columns that factored into the AAN decision: I, II, III.
The AAN chose winners from 67 alternative newsweeklies from the US and Canada. The entries, CL's editor-in-chief David Warner said, offer a broad look at how alt weeklies are covering issues important to Americans.
"It's a good representation on the best work being done by alternative newsweeklies around the country," Warner said.
