Somewhere in your closet, we bet you have an odd collection of something. Sure, maybe it's simply mismatched socks, but for some people, that collection can be Depression glass, the complete works of NKOTB, or WWII memorabilia. People collect all kinds of things, and while the collection might sometimes tell us more about the collector than the items it contains, collections in and of themselves can enchant. If you're the sort who likes to muse over odd assortments of similar things — or even not-so-odd assortments — Collector's Day is right up your alley. The Tampa Bay History Center will feature local collectors with their collections (think meteorites, cigars and action figures, to name but a few) throughout the building, and they'll also have preservationists on-hand to talk about the wrong and right way to preserve heirlooms and photos (spoiler alert: laminating photos is so very, very bad), so you can learn how to keep what you've got in great shape for the future.
