Do It This Weekend: Repo! The Genetic Opera!, The Odd Couple, Fashion and Arts Week and more

If you like the interactive "midnight movie" experience, the Degenerates Shadowcast of Repo! The Genetic Opera provides a crazy pulp-horror movie/show at the Beach Theatre.  (Read Ernestina Xavier's Q&A with shadowcast co-director Matthew Stiles here.)

The live event is reportedly unlike any other, including pre-show entertainment, short films and interaction with cast members inside and out of the theater. The party-like event encourages (but doesn't require) debauchery and role-playing. Adding to the reverie, beer and wine are sold to further relax the inhibitions. The film Repo! The Genetic Opera! takes place in the year 2056, when an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GeneCo, a biotech company that offers organ transplants — for a price. The film is 98 minutes long with a 30-minute pre-show. Feb. 4, 10 p.m.; April 15, 10 p.m.; June 17, 10 p.m. Regular admission is $7; VIP is $10, which includes admission to pre-show. The VIP ticket itself is a souvenir replica of the opera ticket used in the film. Beach Theatre, 315 Corey Ave., St. Pete Beach. 727-360-6697. beachtheatre.com
