See an art show that explores the tenuous social structure of the home.
Fragile Suburbia expresses the delicate balance of suburban life by way of an interesting construction and deconstruction: After meticulously constructing and hand-painting paper dioramas resembling suburban neighborhoods, artist Gabriel Ramos submerges the sculptures in water and then photographs them.
Gabriel Ramos is an undergraduate student at the University of South Florida and will be receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography in the summer of this year. He plans on pursuing a Master of Fine Arts Degree and continuing his career as a photographer.
The exhibition will feature the photographic documentation as well as a three-dimensional installation.
If you like what you see and want to meet the artist, a reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Fri., March 4. The exhibit is on display through March 11.
