The monthly CRAFT meet-ups hope to bring art professional together to create connections and foster collaborations. Join the Creative Pinellas folks as they kick off their second meet-up this Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Morean Center for Clay.
Presented by Creative Pinellas and Wordier Than Thou, the CRAFT Cultural meet-up series will offer an informal space and time for all local creatives to meet and chat about their disciplines, local cultural happenings, and potential collaborations. The monthly meetups allow for regular attendees to not only socialize but to also get to know more about the participating cultural venue in Pinellas county.
The first CRAFT event in July hosted approximately 45 guests at the Morean Arts Center, and included raffle items from the Dali Museum and Chihuly Collection.
ARTICULATE Editor and Creative Pinellas employee, Danny Olda states that CRAFT was "partly inspired by the meetups by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and especially the the meet-ups already taking place in St. Pete as well as the events organized by Wordier Than Thou."
Future CRAFT events are planned for the Dunedin Fine Art Center (Sept. 24 with Dunedin Brewery), and Florida Craftsmen Gallery (Nov. 19 with Cycle Brewing).
This month's event will take place 6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. and it will be followed by a 7:30 p.m. after-meetup at Three Daughters Brewing Company. All attendees need to RSVP by emailing to [email protected] with "CRAFT" in the subject line to confirm attendance.
