The local art scene expressed hope (and some fear) when news broke on July 17 that a contract for the purchase of the Ace Recycling Compound would transform the 50,000-square-foot facility into the Warehouse Arts Enclave.
The facility, which will provide studio and event space for exhibiting artists, beckons a new age for a neighborhood that began as an experimental/DIY alternative to high-priced galleries.
See the “before” and learn about the ideas afoot at WAD’s kick-off event, Envision the Enclave. The event includes a guided tour of the property and performance vignettes.
Attendees can enjoy brew from 3 Daughters and grub from The CA Café along with live music and the ultimate selfie — a portrait painted by one of the masters onsite.
