Get in on a celebration of great dance tunes and old school styles with award-winning dancers showing their stuff.
Let’s Dance kicks it with The Florida Orchestra backing up dancers performing the tango, waltz, cha-cha-chá, Charleston, blues, swing, dance hits from Broadway and films, and ’50s rock favorites, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “I Got A Woman,” “Twistin’ The Night Away” and “Johnny B. Goode.”
Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik leads a program that also features vocalist and local jazz saxophonist Valerie Gillespie and American Idol contestant Michael Lynche. Stephen Edward Syer and Chandrae Roettig, Next Generation Ballet and Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Tampa provide the fancy footwork.
"This concert has the paternal to bring in a wide range of people not the typical people that have been attending for the last 40-50 years," said Tyzik.

If you know anything about Ybor City beyond its night life, it’s probably the synonymity between the words “Ybor” and “cigar.” The history that lies behind Tampa’s brick-laden quarter is nothing less than rich — almost as rich as the cigars you can press against your lips at the Ybor City Cigar Heritage Party.
Tonight, cigar connoisseurs and newbies can relax under the stars and puff the night away while enjoying food from Bernini of Ybor and Carne Chophouse — not to mention liquor tastings, live music by Acho Brother, cigar rolling demonstrations, a silent auction and even a book signing with Wallace Reyes, Guinness Book record holder for the longest cigar and author of Once Upon a Time in Tampa: The Rise and Fall of the Cigar Industry.
Florida Cane will be sampling various flavors of their vodka orange, key lime, strawberry; CL will be sampling its Loafing Brau brew, and Reyes will lead a cigar-rolling demonstration, among other hands-on events that take place throughout the night.
VIP smokers can arrive an hour early and get all of this on top of an open bar, a food and beer pairing/tasting by Tampa Bay Brewing Company and nab a limited-edition commemorative Cigar Heritage Party cigar to show off.
7:30 p.m.—10 p.m. 1818 E. Ninth Ave., Tampa. $45 advance, $55 at door; VIP is $75 in advance, $85 at door. 813-247-1434. Ybormuseum.org. —Mina Abgoon
