If you’re like most of us, you wake up each morning and ask yourself, "Did Prince really die? Was it all just a nightmare? And am I going to check my smartphone in a few minutes and find that Prince and David Bowie, with an assist from Glenn Frey, oddly, are collaborating on the Album of the Decade as well as a world tour that includes a stop at Jannus Live?" Alas. Again, 2016, fuck you. But, if there’s any silver lining at all, it’s that those of us whose lives were profoundly impacted by their music can unite and celebrate their legacies. On Thursday, CL contributor Gabe Echazabal will spin not only Prince tunes, but tunes by acts associated with him (of which there are a butt-ton). Echazabal’s chosen slogan? “Dance, don’t cry.” Hell yes.
