It's no zombie run, and for that, I say thank God, because I'm pretty sure I couldn't outrun a zombie, which says more about my fitness level than anything. If you, like me, want a slightly less adrenaline-filled haunted experience, check out the Haunted Heritage Hike after dark at the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement. Sure, it's dark and yes, that means plenty of things that go bump in the night, but this family-friendly trek is guaranteed zombie-free… we hope. The hike through the woods ends with a campfire, so bring your own marshmallows and get ready to tell ghost stories around an open flame. This walk will take you over uneven terrain in the dark, so wear closed-toe shoes, bring bug spray (after all, mosquitoes rank among Florida's scariest creatures) and get ready to hear romantic and tragic tales of Pinellas on this after-dark event.
