Masterpiece and PBS have teamed up to deliver Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, a 90-minute special that whets appetites for the upcoming fourth season of Sherlock, and places Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) in Victorian London (à la Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original detective stories) as they embark on an entirely new investigation. The special debuts on PBS this Friday, and plays in five local theaters during a special two-day screening event hosted by Fathom. If that’s not enough Holmes for you, the Dali & Beyond Film Series presents Sherlock Jr., featuring Buster Keaton as a projectionist who yearns to be a detective and gets his chance to try on his Sherlock hat after he’s framed for a robbery.
