Theo Wujcik left behind a vibrant legacy of art, from reconstructing DJ cards into something larger than life to — well, he defied categorization. As his partner, Susan Johnson (who will be on hand to speak) lovingly catalogues his collection, art collectors and art appreciators await any news of a Theo Wujcik foundation or group to help preserve his Ybor studio and the massive compendium of work he left behind. Theo’s work now crosses the bay to downtown St. Pete for a showing, curated by Johnson. The themes and works on exhibit at Paintings from the Estate vary as widely as did the ideas and images that sprang from Wujcik’s mind. You can see the exhibit anytime between now and June 4, but Saturday you’ll have the chance to meet the woman who knew — and loved — Wujcik best.
