It isn't even Thanksgiving yet and the cold front has yet to hit, but Ybor wants you to get the winter holiday party started. See Santa and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and a 34-foot tree be illuminated the first time this season in Centro Ybor. Festivities begin at 6 p.m.

Bring your camera for photo opportunities with Santa by the tree. Listen to the sounds of the season with live carolers and performers. Complimentary hot chocolate from Joffrey’s Coffee will be served, and Jimmy John’s will offer free sandwiches.

Head a few feet to the Ritz Ybor afterward for the annual Miracle on 7th Avenue party. The third annual event entertains with tunes by The Ken Apperson Band along with holiday-themed cocktails, photos with Santa, arts and crafts, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a holiday tree decorating contest and more. Open to all ages; donations accepted at the door go to Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

The tree lighting takes place at 16th Street and Eighth Avenue, and The Ritz Ybor is at 1503 E. Seventh Ave. centroybor.com, theritzybor.com.
