Dog Swim Day

SATURDAY: My dog, Calypso, loves to SUP. Swimming pools? Not so much: Her stubby dachshund legs mean after the first step she’s in over her head. Sadly, that means she’ll miss the fun of the Dog Swim Day at the Lake Vista Pool. A dog swim day doesn’t differ so much from a human pool party with the splashing and frivolity. Up side? Far fewer drunken fights (although there may be the occasional tennis ball brouhaha) and not nearly as many ill-fitting Speedos. Bring your pup’s proof of shots and a donation — specifically, blankets, towels, Nylabones, bleach, dish soap, trash bags and newspapers. Humans get in to the pool area free, but stay out of the water —this pool party’s for dogs only.
