On Super Bowl Sunday, the smell of camper fumes and charcoal grills won’t fill the air around Raymond James Stadium.
That’s partly because there’s a global pandemic and you shouldn’t be gathering in large groups, but also because the City of Tampa is going to shut down nearby Al Lopez Park on Sunday, Feb. 7—the same day as the big game.
A press release from the cit says Al Lopez’s community center and dog park will also be closed as the park is used for Super Bowl production.
Al Lopez will resume normal operating hours on Monday, Feb. 8, but the city says to expect heavier traffic near Al Lopez, North Himes Avenue, West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and North Dale Mabry Highway in the leading up to the Super Bowl.
