Dream Momma, I dreamed I won the lottery and right afterwards met the perfect girl who was really into me. In the next part of the dream I am driving my asshole of a brother to rehab. (My last and best relationship ended because of him). I look into the rear view mirror of my new Corvette and see my parents waving good-bye from the front porch of a house I've never seen before. My Mom is crying and I seen her twisting a hanky in her hands. My Dads hands are clasped together like in prayer.  I'm totally confident and smile and wave out the car window, then suddenly I wake up."

Wow, talk about a compensation dream!  I can just picture you, tossing and turning like most of us in this economic crisis, then finally falling into a fitful sleep.  Your days, when you're not working your tail off,  are probably spent trying to keep the family together and holding Mom's hand while cursing, pleading, cajoling and blaming your brother for everything.

When you finally fall asleep you have this great dream. A dream that is the opposite of your everyday reality. In the dream there are images of money sticking out of every pocket, great sex with THE ONE,  proud, grateful, parents and a brother ready to clean up his act.  You also are the proud owner of a Corvette (I'm guessing you don't have one).

No wonder you woke up. Suddenly woke up. That's right, life just sent you a reality hit. A really big one. Please, let me guide you.  First, your life, your relationship, and the good things you want don't spin on your brother's drug/alcohol use. However he can be a convenient scapegoat if things go wrong. Right?  I really, really, want to help you so listen-up with this next piece of reality.

Your brother is not going to get help until he is ready.  Your brother is not going to get help until he is ready. (Yes, I've written it twice).  Let it go, let him go. Live YOUR life.
