Dunedin residents will be sporting rainbows and ridin’ birdie next week.

The city’s yearly Golf Cart Parade next Friday, May 30 is just the beginning in a week of LGBTQ+ Pride events.

Starting at the lot on Virginia St and Orange Ave, dragged up golf carts will cruise from Mease Manor, down Main St with a special U-turn at Main and Broadway and end and park at TD Ballpark lot for the Dunedin Blue Jays Pride Night game.

All golf cart parade participants will get free tickets to the game against the Clearwater Threshers where the celebrations continue.

The rest of Dunedin’s Pride week lineup:

  • A pool party at the Fenway Hotel with lunch, libations, dancing and drag performances. Saturday, May 31. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. $75.
  • A comedy showcase at Jack Pallino’s with Jeff Kline, Gina M, Bradley Gilmore and Russell Manilla Infiniti. Saturday, May 31. 8 p.m. $20. 
  • Pride in the Park, a family-friendly celebration in Pioneer Park with face painting, caricatures, a scavenger hunt across local businesses and live entertainment. Plus, a Pride dog costume contest. Sun, June 1. 12:30-5 p.m. No cover.
  • A Pride flag raising at Dunedin City Hall by the city’s first gay mayor, Moe Freaney. Sun, June 1. 12:30-1 p.m. No cover.
  • Drag Queen Bingo at Blur Nightclub with two shows hosted by Juno Vibranz. She’s joined by Muffy Fishbasket from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and Veronica Foxx 6-9 p.m. Plus, a silent auction. Monday, June 2. $10.
  • Live performance and film at the Scottish American Society. Stan Baker (AKA The Human TV) puts on an autobiographical solo show, “Party Clown of the Rich and Famous,” before a screening of “Gen Silent.” Tuesday, June 3. 6 p.m.-9:30 p.m. $50, including libations and light bites from Pisces Sushi and rainbow cake.
  • Ladies Pride Luau at The Honu with hula performances. Wednesday, June 4. 6 p.m.-9 p.m. $40, including the first drink.
  • A whisky tasting at the Scottish American Society, which pairs Scottish and American whiskies with charcuterie. Celtic dancers and a bagpipe player will give smashing performances. Wednesday, June 4. 7 p.m.-9 p.m. $25-$45. 21+.
  • All the Colors of the Rainbow Art Show at Wine at the Docks, where local artists demonstrate a community commitment to acceptance and togetherness. Thursday, June 5. 4 p.m.-7 p.m. No cover.
  • Drag Queen Bowling at Dunedin Lanes, with special cocktails and striking performances. Thursday, June 5. 10 p.m.-2 a.m. $15, including a lane. 18+.
  • Dunedin Goes Diva Gayla, the most glamorous event of the week, at Highland House’s Bon Appétit Restaurant. Drag queen Jade Embers hosts an evening with performances from Niomi Onassis Knight and a diva-inspired mix from DJ Luis. Friday, June 6. 6:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. $225 includes open bar, hor d’oeuvres and dinner.
