Yes, summer is almost upon us, and once again, and we’re feeling it a good six weeks before everyone else. All the more reason to get a jump on the season’s best tradition: pool parties. For family fun, head to Fossil Park Pool for the Summer Fun & Water Safety Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The event offers in-pool swim lesson evaluations for kids 2 and up, healthy cooking demos, diving demos and raffle prizes from the Tampa Bay Rays. Participants include All Children’s Hospital, Florida Safe Pools, Healthy St. Pete, Safe Kids Florida Suncoast and the Tampa Bay Rays.
For a more grown-up party, DJ Mega and DJ Boomerang will be spinning at the newly completed Hollander Hotel pool on Sunday. No cover from 1 to 6 p.m.
Oh, and while we've got you and are talking about the Hollander's hot new outdoor spot, may we invite you to CL's own Summer Guide Issue Release Party Wednesday night? we can't announce the theme of this year's issue yet, but guests at this free poolside soiree from 6 to 9 p.m. will be the first to grab a copy, as well as appetizers and a keg of Green Bench Brewing's finest.
