She's leaving for a job as executive director of a non-profit foundation and arts center in Kansas City, according to the report in the St. Petersburg Times. The timing might seem a little nervous-making; the Arts Center is in the midst of building a new facility that will house a much-touted collection of works by the glass artist Dale Chihuly. But the transition of power looks like it's going to be pretty seamless; her replacement is Katee Tully, the director of the center's capital campaign, who was apparently hired nine months ago with succession in mind. Tully is an educator and an artist and, speaking from personal experience, one fantastic dame.
