As part of the Straz Center for Performing Arts’ Tampa Total Request Live series, the video follows Miller around Tampa as he poses in front of familiar landmarks, while keeping his mic stand and a tallboy of Bud Light Lime with him at all times.
The video hits on a few key reasons Miller misses Tampa, and how people from New York City are all trying to move here. “I miss not being able to find a place to sit at Armature Works,” says Miller. “I miss driving over the bridge to St. Pete to buy kombucha and crystals (pretty sure that’s all that they sell there). I miss waking up on a Monday morning for the thousandth time swearing to myself that I’ll never drink liquor at The Hub again. But most all, I miss you, Tampa.”
Miller has been a staple in Tampa’s comic scene over the years, opening for comedy giants like Amy Schumer, Jim Jefferies and Brian Posehn. Creative Loafing Tampa Bay awarded Miller a Best of the Bay critic’s pick in 2012 for “Best Comedian,” and in 2014 he topped that award with a reader’s pick.
You can follow along Miller’s tour schedule, new content and more on his website, as well as his Twitter and Instagram.
