Joy Koy’s earliest fans remember the days when he’d play Tampa Improv, but the Filipino-American comedian worked his way up to larger venues like Mahaffey Theatre and Tampa Theatre and is now booked to headline Yuengling Center next year—his biggest Bay area show to date.
Koy’s comedy has been a window into the lives of the Fil-Am community across the U.S., and in March, the 50-year-old released his first autobiography, “Mixed Plate,” and he just wrapped production on a feature film, “Easter Sunday.”
