I don't know how anyone could possibly be a spy or even fantasize about being a spy and not have John Barry's iconic 007 music piped through their inner sound system with every chase through an underground train station, high-stakes game of baccarat, or midnight rendezvous.
Barry's ultra-cool themes will be among other catchy melodies featured when downtown St. Pete's Palladium Theater hosts License to Thrill this Sunday.
The 18-piece Helios Jazz Orchestra, led by band director David Manson, plays selections from popular spy movies and TV shows, most from the swanky, lounge-y 1960s.
In addition to the Bond films, Helios will perform music from The Saint, Get Smart, The Prisoner, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Austin Powers and Mission: Impossible.
Manson’s wife Andrea Moraes will be joined by Bryan Hughes and Denise Moore on vocals.
