Officially, we named it the "Best Weirdest Place to See Comedy" last year. This Thursday will your chance to see it for yourself.
On May 19, Cigar City Comedy is hosting its Fourth Annual Comedy Night on the Rooftop at the Visconti Apartments on International Drive. Well, not the apartments themselves. It's actually on the top floor of the parking lot.
Since it's not a comedy club, things are a little more laid back. The audience brings chairs and their own drinks and food, and the comedians provide the stage, lighting and sound. And the laughs, of course.
Each year they put together a strong lineup, and this one is no different. Comedians include Kyle Ruse, Law Smith and David Weingarten. In all, more than a half-dozen experienced joke-tellers will be on stage.
And the whole thing is free. That includes parking since, you know, it takes place on the roof of a parking lot.
Even if you see comedy shows regularly, you don't normally see it like this. So grab a chair and a cooler and enjoy some stand-up under the stars, with a no-drink minimum and no cover charge.
