If you sometimes feel compelled to burst into song — and people don't throw vegetables at you — you might be a great fit for the Gay Men's Chorus of Tampa Bay. And, hey, that works out, because they're holding auditions for new members next month.

That gives you plenty of time to prepare a verse and a chorus of anything that shows you and your instrument (uh, that'd be your voice) at its best. You may use karaoke or YouTube accompaniment, or bring sheet music for GMCTB's accompanist. They're also gonna want to run that sexy ol' voice of your through some warmups to see exactly what you're capable of (hey, we know how awesome you are — but they want proof).

Also, you need to go online and sign up to audition — the audition times listed below are for reference only; these are by-appointment auditions only.

The Portico, 1001 N. Florida Ave., Tampa | Aug. 4: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; Aug. 13: 7-9 p.m. | Find the link to email them for your audition time — and other info — here
