Disco isn't dead, it's simply… silent? Well, OK, it is at the Tampa Museum of Art's Silent Disco, which is more of a silent party, really. It's a dance where everyone wears wireless headphones — and those headphones let listeners hear one of three DJ stations, so everyone's dancing — but definitely to the beat of their own drummer.
If it sounds surreal, that's 'cause it is. And it's happening at the TMA because it's a fundraiser that supports their educational initiatives with kids (think kindergarten through their senior year of high school). So go dance for good — just, you know, be quiet about it. Oh, yeah — you should probably get your tickets now, because even though TMA has a lot of space, these silent disco parties (a la Coachella or Bonnaroo) are super popular.
