At last, Election Day is here.

Which means that we've come to the final day in our Election 2016 Grab a Pussy campaign, an attempt to redirect the ravings of an indiscreet presidential candidate to a good cause: feline adoption.

Missy is a special case. She's not in a shelter, as our other adoption candidates have been; she has a home, and an owner who loves her. Unfortunately, Missy has to share the home with a cat who doesn't love her. Here's what her owner (a neighbor of mine) has to say:

ย
This breaks my heart but I need to find a new home for one of my cats.

I adopted Missy along with another cat from Friends of Strays in 2015 and it turns out that they really don’t get along. I have been keeping them in separate parts of the house for several months now and no amount of ‘re-introducing’ them has improved the situation. I hate to adopt out the other one because she has limited eyesight and is very skittish and would be traumatized all over again.

Missy loves attention, doesn’t sit on your lap but will snuggle next to you on the couch. She’s almost three now, but acts very kitten-like. Loves toys and sleeping on a corner of the bed (which I haven’t allowed because that’s not her part of the house anymore). Do you know someone who needs a pretty, fun, lovable cat? She’s an indoor-only cat, with her claws, and I won’t let her go to anyone who won’t maintain that.

She’s up to date with her shots and I’ll supply a carrier and litter box and her favorite toys and soft fabric blankie…

I've met Missy, and I can vouch that she's a very sweet cat — and, as you can see from her photo, quite a beauty. If you're interested in adopting, leave a comment below and we'll respond with information about how to connect with Missy's owner.
