Mika McGee-Kleinschmidt will be paddling in this Saturday’s Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Festival, but she should be back home in time to watch the premiere of a new television show that she and her husband, Brian Kleinschmidt, are bringing to HGTV.
“I'll have just enough time to have one celebratory drink with my team and then I have to go to the viewing party,” McGee-Kleinschmidt, 37, told CL.
Produced by the same company responsible for Impractical Jokers and Say Yes To The Dress, the first episode of 90 Day Dream Home airs on April 27 at 10 p.m..
It finds the duo — she is a realtor with Imperio Real Estate, he is a developer — working with their clients to not just design a dream home, but build it in 90 days or less. She takes the clients on tours and helps them design the homes, he makes sure the project gets done on time and above board.
The show will be hosted by the charismatic Riverview couple, who are also active in community theater, and it’s unique in that it is being filmed right here in Tampa Bay (episodes have visited St. Petersburg’s Old Northeast neighborhood and Ybor City in the past).
“We felt we could offer a niche that hasn’t already been publicized on the big screen,” McGee-Kleinschmidt said. “The industry is saturated with shows about flipping and rehabbing, but nothing from building from the ground up.”
“We cannot wait to show off our beautiful city to the country,” Kleinschmidt, also 37, said in a YouTube video.
