Well, we had a good five months without Christmas, but the General Federation of Women’s Clubs North Pinellas Women’s Club wants you to think about the jolliest of holidays all over again. To be fair, it’s not to advertise their Nov. 11 Holiday Market; it’s to put out a call for local artists and other exhibitors.

If you’re a local artist, or a local restaurant who can prepare and/or sell your goodies onsite at St. Petersburg College’s Clearwater Campus, the Club wants to know about it. The annual event will host more than 200 arts, food and craft vendors — including food trucks.

This is also a rebrand for the 42-year-old event; last year (and the 40 years preceding that), you knew it as Christmas Under the Oaks. This year, it’s the Holiday Market, perhaps in deference to not every winter holiday celebrated in Clearwater (and outlying areas) involving Baby J., but also in deference to Coachman Park not being the location anymore (not that Coachman Park has all that many oaks, and, honestly, given the number of wolf spiders who make their cozy eight-eyed homes in oaks, anything under the oaks is iffy for some folks).

So, there you have it, local artists: apply now to be one of the vendors at this annual event that will put 10,000 customers in front of you. The GFWC North Pinellas Women’s Club wants people to sell everything from acrylic paintings to zinnias, so no doubt there’s a place for you at this annual fest. The money raised goes to local social causes — the GFWC North Pinellas Women’s Club puts the all money it raises back into scholarships for local students, as well as grants and community service initiatives in the arts, conservation and other social issues.

So, um, Merry Christmas?
