Does your dog want to be dressed as a lobster, or Wonder Woman?

Maybe? But at least you can tell your beloved pup that the (possible) indignity is for a good cause!

The Pinellas County Gator Club's second annual Howl-A-Ween dog costume contest is coming up on October 23, from 11-2, at Yard of Ale St Pete.

It costs $10 to enter, and proceeds go toward the club's Emerson Scholarship fund. Last year, this fund provided some $10,000 in scholarships to University of Florida freshpeople from Pinellas County.

And if that magnanimity isn't enough to lure you: There's also going to be a brunch menu, $3 mimosas and Bloody Marys, cool prizes, celebrity judges and a DJ — along with a vendor who sells University of Florida, Rays, and Rowdies-themed hair bows

So sorry, dogs; you're going to have to take one for the team this time.
