And now, the article youve waited all month err, all week err, all day well, youve waited long enough, its Kevins Korner (Insert applause here). This week we have all kinds of fun movie news, a trailer and a bit of a rant. So buckle up, its gonna be a bumpy ride; well, not really, but you get the idea.
MOVIE NEWS
Cowabunga: I always wanted to use that word. Anyway, it was announced this week that Nickelodeon has purchased the rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and promises a movie out by 2011. This deflates comic book fans everywhere, who were hoping for a darker return of the Turtles. Either way, I hope they bring back Vanilla Ice for some more Go ninja, Go ninja, go!
Bruce Campbell in Spider-Man 4: Sam Raimi, famed director and friend of Bruce Campbell, has confirmed not only that Ash himself will be appearing in Spidey-4, but also that he would have a bit meatier of a roll this time around. If you remember, Campbell played the ring announcer, the annoying doorman, and the waiter with the bad accent. I promised him we would write something because I really love putting him in the pictures. I promised him a good, meaty role." Fanboys are hoping Campbell will play a villain, but more than likely, he will be little more than another glorified but completely awesome cameo.
The Weather Channel does movies: Yes, believe it or not, you read that correctly. The Weather Channel announced they are going to start showing weather-related movies. The first one will be the George Clooney and Mark Whalberg action flick, the Perfect Storm. I can only think of 5 or 6 movies that are really weather related without stretching to The Hurricane. I didnt even know TWC was still on, ya know, since the invention of the Internet and all.
The Crow is back, just not remade: Blade director Steven Norrington has just submitted a script for a new Crow movie, which he claims is not a remake. There has been some buzz lately over the script, and /Film is saying the studio was very happy with it. Now that the writing is done, the Internet is already talking about who to cast as the Crow. My guess is, this will be one of the few roles for which Ryan Reynolds won't get mentioned.

MY RANT
Last week, Bill Murray talked to the Times of London. During the interview, they discussed his experience working on the Charlies Angels project. They discussed the fact Lucy Liu physically attacked him after he told her she cant act, and the supposed head butt to director McG (still the stupidest nickname ever). After the description, he said McG should be not just head-butted, he should die.
While I read this, I scratched my head and wondered who was at fault. Then I realized it doesnt matter, as stories like this tarnish the movie no matter the agressor. In this case, I don't have much love for Charlies Angels, anyway, but this sort of thing happens all the time. You hear stories about fights and how the cast didnt get along. From then on, every time you watch that movie, its impossible to get into the world the film creates, because youre still wondering if Lucy Liu is a biter, or if Bill Murray likes to beat up women. Either way, the experience of watching the movie is irreparably tarnished.
So, Mr. Celebrity, next time you go running your mouth, remember, you're not just hurting the rest of the cast you're hurting your audience, and that means youre hurting America!
