Well, damn. Prince is dead.
By now you've had your fill of worthy tributes, videos and interviews with people who knew/loved/kinda knew/worked for/barely knew the reclusive music legend. So maybe it's time for a few laughs. Fortunately, the comedy schedule has plenty of options for you.
If nothing else, it might take your mind off the fact that 2016 has been disastrous in terms of losing creative musicians. So find some comedy and enjoy the healing properties of laughter.
Here's the lineup:
Theaters and Special Events
SOLD OUT Anjelah Johnson. An accomplished comedian, Johnson is best known for her Bon Qui Qui character from "MADtv." And for this tour, she's giving fans exactly what they want. In addition to famous bits and sketches featuring the character, Johnson will also perform rap songs featuring Qui Qui (is that her last name? We're not really sure). In any case, if you love Johnson's performance style and the outrageousness of her signature character, this show delivers everything you could want and more. Wednesday, Straz.
Frank Caliendo. From John Madden to William Shatner to Morgan Freeman (really), Caliendo's known for uncanny impressions from across the pop-culture spectrum. And when you see Caliendo you see all of them and the comedic dialogues that he creates for each one.

Chuck Glass. Glass, a member of the acclaimed Got Jokes? improv troupe, takes the mic for an evening of stand-up comedy. Fellow improv comedians Barry Naylor and Kojo Prince will provide support, setting the stage for Glass' observations and punchlines.
$10. Thursday-Sunday; times vary. Tampa Improv, 1600 E. Eighth Ave., Tampa. 813-864-4000. improvtampa.com.
Tony Roberts. Some comedians stand still on stage and recite their jokes. Not Roberts. He's active, animated and super-charged as he delivers his material, giving it a visual authenticity that adds to the humor. He'll surely take full advantage of the Improv's two-tiered stage this weekend.
$17-20. Thursday, 8 p.m.; Friday, 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 7 p.m. Tampa Improv, 1600 E. Eighth Ave., Tampa. 813-864-4000. improvtampa.com.
Chris Kattan. Kattan's run on Saturday Night Live ended back in 2003, but his characters and impersonations were so popular, he's still known for his work there. The movie A Night at The Roxbury only cemented that fame, and now he's in town for a weekend of stand-up shows. Expect plenty of familiar voices and personalities mixed in with the jokes.
$22. Thursday, 8:30 p.m.; Friday, 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.; Saturday, 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 7 p.m. Side Splitters, 12938 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. 813-960-1197. sidesplitterscomedy.com.
J.B. Ball. Ball is Florida's Funniest Comedian (according to the annual competition) and the winner of Side Splitters' March Madness comedy contest as well. Oh, and he was our most recent"Best of the Bay" critics' pick for Best Comedian.
But judges aren't the only ones who appreciate his casual style and pop culture references. His personality keeps audiences engaged with established favorites, newer material and maybe some funny stuff that popped into his head on the way over.
$10. Saturday, 6 p.m. Side Splitters, 12938 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. 813-960-1197. sidesplitterscomedy.com.
Johnny Oz. Oz has an easy-going style and a lot of wit, sharing his perspectives on a variety of topics. A good amount of his material involves relationships and recreational smoking, and not necessarily in that order. Fortunately, you don't have to puff or pass to enjoy his comedic premises and punchlines.
$12. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Snappers Grill & Comedy Club, 36657 U.S. Highway 19 N., Palm Harbor. 727-938-2027. snappersgrill.com.
Bob Burr. Burr fuses comedy and magic to provide something a little different than traditional stand-up comedy. Burr has talent in both disciplines so it's still funny, but with props and sleight of hand instead of just a mic and a stand.
Note: This show is also a benefit for the Alzheimer's Association.
$12. Thursday, 7:30 p.m. Snappers Grill & Comedy Club, 36657 U.S. Highway 19 N., Palm Harbor. 727-938-2027. snappersgrill.com.
Larry Myles. At first glance, Myles doesn't seem like a politically-correct guy. And that first impression is the right one. But he freely uses his no-nonsense wit to share his opinions on a variety of topics.
$18-$25. Wednesday – Saturday, 9:30 p.m. Coconuts, 5501 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach. 727-360-5653. coconutscomedyclubs.com.
Steve Lazlow. Lazlow has plenty of clever adult material. But sometimes the best parts of the show are when something catches his eye and he goes off on a tangent, riffing with the audience and mining the comedy out of an impromptu interaction. You should get plenty of both on Saturday night.
$10. Saturday, 8:30 p.m. 2 Palms, 2950 Gulf to Bay Blvd., Clearwater. 727-400-6920. 2palmstampabay.com.
