Amalie Arena (where the Tampa Bay Lightning play) is a big venue.
So big, in fact, that comedians don't really book shows there. With very rare exceptions, a comedian doesn't have the drawing power to hold a show at a venue like that.
But several popular comedians? That's something different.
Black and Brown Comedy Get Down is a veritable who's who of comedians of color: Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez, D.L. Hughley, Mike Epps and Charlie Murphy are all on the bill, and they're coming to town on Jan. 23.
Aside from their television shows, talk shows and movie roles, each of them are known for unfiltered stand-up comedy, and that's exactly what fans will be getting that evening.
But the ones getting good tickets will have to act fast. They go on sale this morning at 10 a.m.
Showtime is Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. $46.50-$62.50 (a special meet-and-greet VIP package is $246.75). 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa. Info: 813-301-2500 or AmalieArena.com
