She looks familiar, you say to yourself. Where have I seen her?

I dunno, have you ever seen at least 10 seconds of any televised comedy roast? Yeah, then you've seen her. Known widely as an "insult comic" for her provocative style — which often focuses on group stereotypes — Lampanelli has been a reliable go-to roaster for more than a decade; it's the arena in which she first really broke, despite having honed her stand-up chops since the mid-'90s. (She's also changed her look quite a bit over the last couple of years, so you might be forgiven for not recognizing her immediately.)

So does her audacious, button-pushy style make her an insightful cultural commentator or, er, something else? One thing's for sure — she gets called out regularly for saying stuff that, coming out of someone like Sarah Silverman's mouth, would be hailed as the height of shrewd irony. Decide for yourself early next year, but get your tickets Saturday morning starting at 10 a.m., before they're gone.
