Yesterday I arrived in Miami to catch the tail end of Art Basel Miami Beach, the annual art fair confab that attracts traffic-jamming numbers of artists, art collectors, art dealers, celebrities, and fashionistas to Miami each year. While I’m here, I’ll be checking in with some of the Tampa Bay-based artists and gallery owners who are making their presence felt in the city over the weekend as well as sharing news of other highlights of this year’s smorgasbord of visual art spectacles. César Cornejo at Art Positions:
César Cornejo is Peruvian artist who works in New York and London in addition to Tampa, where he teaches art at USF. His project, Puno MoCA, is being exhibited at Art Positions— a branch of Art Basel Miami Beach devoted to up-and-coming artists and galleries— by Lima-based gallery Galeria Lucía de la Puente.
