Yes, Dane Cook is funny, if you like frat dude comedy that's littered with jokes and anecdotes requiring only a few brain cells to understand. I guess that explains how he went from playing regular club gigs to performing at 16,000-plus venues across the U.S. But even as I scoff at his base level humor, I can't be too pissy as I'm a firm advocate of live comedy — at least he's getting people out there, right? Too few folks actually try and make it to a stand-up show, and it's really very much like a concert; good enough on television, but in most cases, a thousand times better live.
Anyhow, Cook is bringing his national tour to St. Pete Times Forum next year — Saturday, January 29. Tickets go on sale Saturday, September 27, at 10 a.m.
